What Projects Qualify
For Massachusetts homes, financing can cover eligible water heater, boiler, and other plumbing replacement work once the job is defined. Jeneral Plumbing first looks at the existing equipment, utilities, venting, access, and code requirements, then gives you a flat-rate price to approve before work begins — financing comes after that step, not in place of it.
Electric resistance tank
From $2,300
A standard replacement can include the new tank, accessible water connections, electrical coordination, permits, startup, and hauling away the old unit.
Gas storage, all vent types
$2,900 – $6,500
Fuel piping, the vent type and its condition, combustion air, water connections, permits, startup, and removal all shape the final price.
Hybrid heat pump
Up to $7,800
This is the installed price before the Mass Save discount. Placement, condensate drainage, electrical capacity, room air volume, and operating sound all need to be confirmed for your space.

Condensing tankless
$8,500 – $11,000+
Tankless asks more of the house: gas capacity, venting, condensate drainage, water quality, service clearances, permits, commissioning, and removal all shape the scope.

Financing vs. Membership Plans
They do different jobs. Financing can spread the cost of one eligible project over time, while a membership plan includes listed service and maintenance benefits under the current plan terms.
Third-party financing through Hearth
Personal-loan offers through Hearth may include up to $250,000 with terms up to 12 years. Separate credit-card offers may include 0% introductory APR for qualified applicants. Rates, fees, terms, eligibility, and funding timing depend on the applicant, lender, and offer.
Separate from any financing, Jeneral Plumbing offers senior and church community discounts. They are our own discounts, not Hearth lending terms. Eligibility and the discount are confirmed with the approved project scope and price.
Monthly service plans
Home Essentials ($19.99/mo), Home Guardian ($24.99/mo), and Water Care ($39.99/mo) are monthly service plans for routine care, not payment plans for a project. Each plan's benefits and current written terms are listed in the homepage membership plans section.
Rebates and Financing Together
If you choose a qualifying heat-pump water heater, the project may receive the $750 Mass Save discount, as of August 2026. Program sponsors set the equipment, customer, installation, and submission requirements, so eligibility has to be confirmed against the current Mass Save page. Financing approval and rebate eligibility are decided separately, and your project documents should show how any qualifying discount is applied.

Does checking my options hurt my credit?
No. Pre-qualification through Hearth uses a soft credit pull, so checking your options does not affect your credit score. If you go on to accept an offer, the lender may complete additional review under its terms. Approval, APR, fees, and final terms depend on the lender and the applicant, so read the offer documents before you proceed.
Do you offer in-house financing?
No. Jeneral Plumbing does not lend money or make credit decisions. We connect homeowners with third-party financing through Hearth, and Hearth's lending partners decide eligibility, offers, rates, fees, terms, and funding. That split is on purpose — we price the plumbing work, and the lender makes the credit decision. If you compare plumbing companies that finance projects, ask each one who the lender is and whose terms apply.
Can you finance a water heater?
Yes. You can check financing options through Hearth for an eligible water heater replacement; approval, rates, and terms depend on the lender and the applicant. Our installed prices are from $2,300 for a standard electric resistance tank; $2,900 – $6,500 for gas storage, all vent types; up to $7,800 for a hybrid heat pump; and $8,500 – $11,000+ for condensing tankless. The hybrid price is before the $750 Mass Save discount, as of August 2026. Our senior and church community discounts are separate from any financing and are confirmed with the project price.
Can I combine a Mass Save rebate with financing?
Yes. A rebate and financing can apply to the same project. The $750 Mass Save discount for hybrid heat-pump water heaters, as of August 2026, lowers the project cost, and financing can cover the balance under the lender's terms. Whether the rebate applies depends on the program's current rules and the equipment installed, and both are confirmed in your written options before work begins.
When is the $80 dispatch fee charged?
Regular-hours appointments carry an $80 dispatch fee — the cost of the visit, waived when you hire us for the work. Financing the project does not change that. Any separate service-plan benefit follows the current written plan terms.
