Safety comes before scheduled work
Smell Gas? Leave Immediately and Call from Outside
If you smell gas, leave the building first. From outside, call 911 and your gas utility, then stay out until the fire department or utility says the property is safe. Do not operate switches, phones, appliances, windows, shutoffs, or flames.
After clearance, contact a licensed plumber for the repair path. See the gas-line repair service for leak detection and repair; this page covers planned new piping only.
- Leave the building first

- Wait outside for official clearance
- Use the licensed repair path only after clearance
